Windows Vista ReadyBoost Flash RAM

Monday, May 21st, 2007

This is intriguing. Plugging in a thumb drive Flash RAM and using it as a virtual memory page file instead on a hard disk. I have just started using Vista and there are interesting bits of new technology to explore and use. Using a flash RAM has the advantage of speed up to 10x the speed in comparison with hard disk and it is cheaper cost against the price of DDR RAM. (more…)

Finally I got myself a brand new 19″ LCD monitor. I had been mulling around and wondering which brand to go for and whether it should be 17″ or 19″.

I found my Samsung 15″ monitor with its 1024 x 768 to be a tad small after upgrading the O/S from XP to Vista. Although before that, I already felt it was about time I upgraded a new monitor anyway, and put my good old 15″ monitor in my bedroom together with my good old Pentium 3 system. (more…)

HTML Lesson 6: Create HTML tables in your own website

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Create tables is one of the more difficult HTML code to master when making your own website. It is well worth the effort to learn it as it can help you to align each section of your website. You need to think a little bit more abstractly and imagine how the table will look like after you have done the HTML coding.

Some instructional text books said the tables were one of the most misuse codes for HTML. Hey, whatever works to tame your text, graphics and various sections in proper alignment! (more…)

Bad month or just bad luck?

Thursday, May 17th, 2007

Was there something wrong this month or was it just my bad luck? The month of May feels like a month of people taking their sweet time to pay back their dues.

Company wise, there are a couple of customers delaying their payment. Personally wise, I have tenant that is now overdue in their rental arrear up to 2-1/2 months worth! And additionally, my AirKu water vending machine was not only broken in once, but twice. Must be the work of the same gang. (more…)

Running Vista with some speed bumps

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Installing Windows Vista was a breeze. I’m able to dual boot to windows XP without any hitch. However stuffing it up with software to make useful is another matter. It seems like many of my software that worked in XP is now not able to work in Vista. What a blow! Now I have to get all the upgraded version for those software that wouldn’t run in Vista! Ouch! An expensive affair indeed. No wonder I see some people in the USA who would want to sue M$. Best of luck, my dear! (more…)

Google website down?

Saturday, May 12th, 2007

Could such a thing be possible? I have not been able to access any Google website including my Gmail since Friday. I thought something was wrong with my Linksys LNE100TX LAN card, but I was very sure I installed the drivers correctly. So I tried other sites like Dogpile, Yahoo, MSN and the pages load up without a hitch. (more…)

Vista drivers for Linksys LNE100TX

After 3 days of clearing and backing up data from my hard disk, I finally have the chance to install Windows Vista. It was really tedious going through all the data and the additional fact that I don’t have DVD burner didn’t help at all. By installing the Windows Vista on a separate partition I could still use my good old Windows XP since I have lots of software running in it and also to test out and get myself familiar with Vista. (more…)

Life is indeed getting better. Ever since God helped in removing a tyrant boss from my life, things seem to move smoother. There can be nothing else but praises to God who has removed a mountain from my life. It is like going through what Job has experienced. A real test. Though mine is not as severe as Job’s, in some ways it mirrors his despair. Though I was miserable for two long years, it did strengthen me. “What does not kills you makes you stronger” as the saying goes. (more…)

Dual booting windows XP and Vista

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

I’ve been thinking of installing Windows Vista, but I’m not very sure whether it will work well with my current PC and software. Windows has Vista ready checking software, and it found a few hardware and software that might not work in Vista.

After giving it much thought, I’ve decided dual booting would be the way to go. Just in case Vista screws up because there are no proper drivers and updated software that I can run it with. (more…)

Forgiveness. This seems to be a recurring theme for the past week. My cell was having some discussion about forgiveness; and today I receive in my inbox a pdf file titled, “A letter to the Global Church from The Protestant Church of Smyrna” about the horrific murders on three Christians on the 18th April,2007 in Malatya, Turkey.
