Out with the old, in with the new. I may have lost my Panasonic Lumix camera to the pickpocketer, and with it my Hanoi photos together with it. Disappointed, yes, but life goes on and now I get to play with a brand new Canon Powershot A720IS digital camera.

I really needed a camera to take photos for memories, for photography and for blogging too. Without a camera, I seemed rather handicapped. So last Friday after work, I dropped by 1-Utama shopping mall to scout around for a replacement. Hari Raya Festive holiday was just over but the sales were still ongoing. I was pretty sure I could get something. My target was Canon models because it has many function similar to an SLR. (more…)

What was it with Hanoi, Vietnam that makes even planning a trip there perilous? If there was some kind of jinx set upon a place I would most certainly say there was something about that holiday destination that didn’t seem to welcome us. (more…)

My brother-in-law, Kenny and his soon to be wife, Rebecca had an engagement bash. It was quite a last minute thing and there was much to prepare. File Synchronization
I have been using the Briefcase folder provided by Windows for sometime. It was nothing to shout about as it was simple file synchronization tool which was available even way back when Windows 95 was first introduced. I didn’t really use it seriously till I needed to work on files on my portable USB flash device both at home and in the office. I wanted to have the same set of working files in my home PC, my office PC and my USB flash drive. (more…)
I came across this from PC World and it looked intriguing. So I gave it a try and formatted my USB flash drive from FAT to NTFS file system. The steps were easy to follow, and by using NTFS I could get some additional features which the FAT or FAT32 did not provide. I could compress folders, encrypt folders or even set user quota, though setting user quota would not be very useful since I will be the only one using it. The files inside the USB formatted in NTFS system could also be indexed for faster file searches. Cool!
So here are the steps to format the USB flash drive into NTFS file system. (more…)
