Saturday, January 31st, 2009Nokia E66 mobile phone
Saturday, January 31st, 2009Lena’s Nokia 6500 mobile phone was giving her trouble since day one when she bought it. It would hang while being used and the ringing tone would automatically revert back to the default Nokia tone. She finally call it quits and decided to change her phone. Going to her favourite mobile phone shop in SS2 Petaling Jaya, the Atlantis Communication shop, she was having a tough time trying to figure out which mobile phone to go for. She was also considering Sony Ericson range of hand phones as well. Thinking of style and functionality at the same time makes the selection pretty tough.
At first she looked at the Nokia N series but didn’t like the bulkiness, while Sony Ericson range were nice but without the slide feature which she took quite a fancy. So I suggested looking into the Nokia E series which my friend Eric used to owned. (more…)

How time flies when you are enjoying yourself and already the week is coming to an end. There’s still one more trip to go, to Raub where my aunty’s sundry shop is located. She’s really cheerful person despite the loss of her loving husband from a motorbike accident some years ago. She still invites us over to have a good makan in her favourite restaurant in Raub. Chinese New Year travel destination trip to Kuantan, Pahang
Tuesday, January 27th, 2009“Chinese New Year doesn’t feel like one if we didn’t make an outstation trip.” Lena said. So off we went for a travel destination trip to Kuantan, Pahang on the first day of Chinese New Year with Lindy and my parent-in-laws in tow driving in our Toyota Wish which would provide a comfortable trip. Our Uncle Tee has invited us to stay over because they have won a new LCD TV / Theatre home system set plus a new sofa settee from some lucky draw. Well it was a good excuse to ask us over, and a good excuse to make a trip to Kuantan. With the sun shining bright and hot in the morning, Lena and I also took opportunity to do some laundry and housekeeping. Before we made our trip, we had to drop by Uncle Michael house for a CNY lunch. They had organized a Lion Dance as a symbol to usher in prosperity for their business. So the balance journey time to Kuantan was rather tight. By the time we were ready to make our departure it was already four o’clock. (more…)

Looking for an alternative income generation after Chinese New Year?
Friday, January 23rd, 2009Looks like CNY is just around the corner. Almost everybody is winding up their businesses especially factory production. With the looming gloomy economic climate, many factories has taken this opportunity to extend the CNY holiday for a week or more in an effort to reduce production overhead cost. Some has even decided to cut employees salary as a move to reduce expenses. Though family reunion dinner celebration is a must, it looks like a mixture of “glad to be still alive but have to tighten belt” to face an uncertain future.
It is unfortunate the world economy has to centre itself on the biggest consumer market namely the USA. Whenever their economy goes down, so does the whole wide world. The cycle of wax and wane of the world economy has a very predictable pattern which no one seems to bother except the academics. It roughly follows a 10 to 11 years of boom and bust cycle. Some scientist even wonders whether it has something to do with the solar cycle activities which also follows a 10-11 year cycle. Strange coincidence indeed. The world’s economy is like a bubble, it just need a flashpoint to trigger it and the house of cards would just come tumbling down. (more…)
happy chinese new year!
Friday, January 23rd, 2009Cny is around the corner. Traffic jams every where as people rush back for family reunion. Lucky me my family live in KL. No need to rush-rush. Shopping malls every has beutiful decoration but somehow it is simpler. Perhaps the malls are trying to save cost from the slower economy. At least they still spend some marketing money.
Cheers and happy CNY!
Work life balance good and bad
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009The New Year started with a bang from all those grand fireworks display. Being near to two shopping malls I got to see all the slam bang actions from 1-Utama and Ikano/Curve. That was like 3 weeks ago since my last blog. Well I was kinda busy. During the New Year, I made a trip up to Cameron Highlands with my parents and less than a week later I was off to Bali to attend a cousin’s wedding. Two travel destinations in so short a time sounds good you would think. But there is such a thing as travel fatigue. Too much of a good thing can actually be a tiring affair. (more…)
air asia playing tricks?
Sunday, January 11th, 2009After rushing to bali int'l airport and finally checking in our luggage. Suddenly we were informed that the flight we were booked in was cancelled. It was the second last flight of the day. We were all pushed to the next flight which was the last flight
we would arrive the terminal pass midnight. By that time we arrived if we were to take taxi we would have to pay surcharge 50% more not to mention the gross incovenience n waste of time.
We suspect their late flight was not full n to save cost they cancelled the earlier flight and pushed all the passengers to the last flight. Guess it was a common for air asia to do this because it has happen frequently. Always the penultimate flight gets cancelled with the excuse of technical problem. No detailed explanation, no prior announcement, no apologies, no compensation, just a matter of fuel cost savings to the inonvenience of passengers.
It would be best not to choose the penultimate flight to avoid the frustrations of waiting at the airport with nothing better to do.
shopping n more shopping
Saturday, January 10th, 2009First we had the famous dirty duck in ubud for lunch. Didn't quite like coz it was too dry for my taste tho the decor was great. Next came shopping at ubud. Then at sukawati market. Took many photos but already felt tired of this incessant shopping spree by the missus.
