The news came as a shock to us all. Kenny’s simple medical procedure to drain fluid from his ear went smoothly without a hitch. However the doctor found something else and decided to do additional test to found out what it was. And today the result just came in and the prognosis was not good. (more…)

Sometimes different browsers react differently to the HTML/CSS when you make your own web site, you have to watch out and test it on each browser. Kind of a drag if you want to make sure IE/Firefox/Opera/Chrome works flawlessly. If that is too much of a chore, then just concentrate on the main one which is usually Internet Explorer, and your favourite browser like Firefox. (more…)

It may be interesting and fun to make your own web site. However the way each browser (IE/Firefox/Opera/Chrome) handles the HTML/CSS codes leaves you with many headaches. Although my browser of choice is Firefox, there is still a large user base for Internet Explorer. I can say that roughly as much as 70% of users out there are still using IE because it came with Windows and also due in part to ignorance or unfamiliarity with other alternatives. (more…)
I guess eventually it will come to this. I actually wanted to pass this old PC of mine to somebody who could make use of it. My IWILL BD100 plus motherboard running on Pentium 3 CPU with four pieces of assorted SD-RAM totalling about 288MB, a 20GB hard disk and a 32MB NVIDIA graphic card was pretty good at that time back in year 2000.
It was pretty much my workhorse computer at that time plus I did many experiments and exploration, plugging in and unplugging various hardware equipment, and I even installed a 5-1/4″ floppy drive which I salvaged from somewhere! With as many as five PCI slots, 2 ISA slots, 1 AGP slot and 4 memory slots, I could install quite a lot of hardware cards from old ISA cards to the newer PCI cards. I even had a RAID PCI card in an attempt to speed up the computer hard disk data transfer rate. The motherboard only had a bus speed of 100MHz, while the motherboard hard disk connection was going at ATA66; using the RAID card, I tried to improve the speed connection to ATA100. (more…)

One of our office PCs was already more than 5 years old and I had to replace it with a Dell Inspiron 530s. Aged PC tends to slowdown in its speed even after say a clean format and a complete reinstall. Anyway I loathed doing a reinstallation as it is a very tedious task. Better to submit a new PC purchase to the management, after all the same amount of tediousness of preparing the PC was the same anyway.
Since I did not have the luxury of waiting for the best offer from Dell as I normally would if I were to make a personal computer purchase, I had to take whatever that was on offer on Dell’s web site. The key to choosing a Dell system is (more…)
