A friend commented, “Wah! You got so many web sites! Heard that can make money from blogging. Wanna try too.”
Well, it is not as simple as that. If it were so, I would have been a rich man by now. Sure it is no harm trying. Especially if you can build a web site for free using free service from Google, Bravenet, Yola, Geocities, etc. But in the end after making some post for some months, not seeing any results, with very paltry returns, the-would-be-webmaster call it quits and that’s the end of that. Thanks for the virtual candle vigil. Let me share this.
My bro-in-law was diagnose cancer (nasal area, cannot operate). After study the current radio/chemo therapy methods; conclusion this method is dangerous, expensive and survival rate very low (3-7%). Now going for alternate medicine/nutrition medicine way. So far he has been going on this method for 2-3 months. So far he looks healthier, lost weight (he was very fat, so those who want to lose weight healthy way try this!). Will go for MRI scan later (6 months later) to reconfirm effectiveness. Also heard many people survived through this method.
This method requires very strict discipline and involves change of eating habit/lifestyle. Not many people can follow this way. We all can follow it to a certain extend or all the way if we want to for health and prevention. (more…)

I received an email from WorldWideNetwork.asia purporting that someone by the name of Peter Alldis was attempting to register my name with a .cn and .asia top level domain (TLD) name. Because they discovered that a janleow.com exist in the internet, they would like to offer the chance to register .cn and .asia first to safeguard my interest for internet brand, trademarks and/or internet intellectual property rights protection.
I find it odd that someone would want to hijack and register my name considering that I’m not famous nor am I a celebrity. So why would someone want to cyber-squat using my name? (more…)

Now this was fast. I submitted my Citibank Rewards for a Philips GoGear 2GB MP3/WMA Player and I received it in just a week even though they mentioned it will take several weeks. I have amassed sufficient Citibank Reward Points and decided to redeem the Philips GoGear MP3/WMA Player. It needs 41,000points and I thought it was quite reasonable. The MP3/WMA Player for a 2GB version was going for about RM160 in the market while the 4GB version was about RM240. (more…)

I received an email from my sis-in-law about a newspaper article saying that reboiling water is harmful. Being a bit dubious about this, a quick check in the net, I found out why reboiling water may be harmful and why it is not as harmful as one thought, why it is not harmful at all and that one should shoot the editor who never check out his sources before regurgitating information and publishing it on national newspaper. Argh! Not again! The internet connection is atrociously slow. This time who should I blame? Streamyx or Conficker worm? Perhaps both? Apparently the Conficker worm has been wrecking havoc around the world since it was triggered on April Fool’s day and has managed to infect thousands of web servers, web sites and millions of computers around the world starting from the East to West as the time zone slowly switches the date to 1st April. I’ve been mulling around for a portable hard drive, wondering which brand and model to use for my storage needs. Finally I decided to go for Transcend StoreJet 25F after briefly checking out the good points about each available models in the market. (more…)
I heard from Fresh Gear shop that Palm was launching a new mobile phone called the Palm Pre using a new platform called Web OS. It still hasn’t reached the shores of Malaysia so I’m still waiting for the shop to have stock before having a good look at it. Perhaps as a long time fan of Palm devices like my current Palm Tungsten T3 and Palm Centro which I am using, I wonder if the new Palm Pre with its new Palm Web OS would be nice to use. (more…)
