This is fun, BookCrossing. Who would have thought that leaving your books in out in the wild and let somebody else pick it up, read it, and hopefully they would leave a little note behind in your BookCrossing account. It started out way back in 2001 when Ron and his wife Kaori were admiring PhotoTag.org site where disposable cameras were let go in the wild and was tracked based on the serial number. So they came up with the idea of leaving books around either at specific BookCrossing designated areas or random points of place. (more…)

Remove and Get Rid of Feedproxy in Feedburner

I noticed that some of my RSS feeds from Feedburner have the feedproxy.google.com domain and a long squiggly URL. I would like to remove and get rid of the feedproxy in my feedburner feeds and would much prefer to have the URL with my own domain and the webpage URL link. I also noticed that not all my RSS from my various blogs has this issue. So very likely there was some sort of setting at fault. (more…)

Exabytes Webhosting HELM control panel alias bug

When choosing a webhosting solution like Exabytes, IPserveron, Bluehost or Bravenet, when you build your website, the control panel of the webhost that you choose will determine the usability. Of course the simpler your website that you make, there will be less impact if the control panel is buggy. However if you need to do something more you might find yourself struggling and perhaps hobbled by what buggy control panel that your domain is hosted in. (more…)

Dell Inspiron Mini 10v Netbook Review

Recently I just got the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v and some of my friends asked how it was. I have been thinking about getting a netbook for awhile. Sure I got my laptop, the Dell Inspiron 1501 about 2-1/2 years ago. With its big 15.4″ screen it was quite a dead weight to carry around. Although I wanted portability, I also wanted a generous work space on the screen. And of course usually laptops that are bigger are generally cheaper despite the fact that LCD screen space is more. There was a time that bigger screen was more expensive; however in order to cramp more hardware component into smaller spaces meant that notebooks would be more expensive than laptops. (more…)
