Oh, oh, looks like Six Apart’s Vox.com is closing its door. Another free blogging service bites the dust. I have been using Vox.com for mobile blogging since 31/Aug/2008 or roughly for about two years. And what a coincidence the date I sign up was on Malaysia Merdeka Independence day! The end of the free blogging service seemed rather timely as around June this year, I was already planning to migrate to another mobile blogging platform, namely blog by using Google Blogger. Six Apart made the closing announcement just after the Merdeka day this year and informed that the Vox blogging service will end on 30th Sept 2010. (more…)

Vox.com Closing its Free Blogging Service
Friday, September 3rd, 2010Google Multiple Sign In
Monday, August 9th, 2010Google multiple sign in is another very useful feature launched by Google recently. Certainly helps if you have multiple Gmail account. And why would you have so many Gmail / Google account in the first place? Many like me I found has a Gmail account for personal, for work, or to separate and segregate the incoming email. And in order to work around the single sign in previously and to log in and monitor each account, I use multiple browsers at the same. So I have Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, (but not IE, no thanks! Heh heh…) opened at the same time to check each account. So now with the Google multiple sign in feature available, there is no more need to have several browser open at the same time! (more…)
Google Webmaster Central DNS Verification Method
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010Google Webmaster Central DNS verification method is a little tricky to use in comparison with the HTML and META tag version. However there are instances where you would need to use DNS verification in situation where your domain is not using a normal web hosting provider and such you have no way to upload a HTML file for verification. Free websites like Yola.com and Webs.com comes to mind as well as to those who are using GoDaddy.com just for parking their domain but pointing their DNS to another location. (more…)
How to switch off Bing background
Monday, June 28th, 2010The Bing search engine background is nice and beautiful. But sometimes in an office environment where bosses are keeping a hawkish eye on what their employees are doing, the attractive Bing background is like a beacon for boss watchful eye. So it might be prudent to disable and switch off Bing background and keep yourself grey and not standout in your need to search for information online irregardless if you are researching for information for your work or for personal information. Google Reveals Adsense Revenue Share
Wednesday, May 26th, 2010Finally the Google gods revealed their Adsense revenue share. It is good to have some idea what is their pay out to us poor publisher who rely Google Adsense to power our websites. This may have something to do with the Italian anti-trust suit brought up against them. Nevertheless the transparency is a welcome information. (more…)
Playing Around with DNS Zone
Friday, May 7th, 2010I’ve been tinkering and fiddling with my domain DNS zone. I tweak my website a lot. This is one interesting hobby, making website, experimenting with a feature here and there and trying something new and see whether it will be useful widget or just some red herring. DNS zoning is about NS nameservers, A Records, CNAME, PTR, etc and having learned about it, found it to be very useful. (more…)
Multiposting hits a snag
Friday, May 7th, 2010I’m trying to create as much exposure as I can by using multiposting services like Twitterfeed which in turns repost to other multipost web apps like HelloTxt and Ping.fm. Unfortunately something broke in Twitterfeed, it couldn’t recognize the API provided by Ping.fm. I could of course shift most of my other social websites to HelloTxt but there will still be some websites that HelloTxt don’t handle plus Ping.fm has some features which HelloTxt don’t have. (more…)
Domain Name Scams
Friday, April 2nd, 2010Here they go again. Are these web hosting company so desperate to get any kind of business that they have to resort to domain name scams to earn their income? Ever since the first time they send me one of these messages saying that somebody so and so wants to register my domain name with a .cc TLD or dot whatever, I was of course taken in by their professional looking correspondences. Fortunately I checked around first before succumbing to their little domain name scams. (more…)
Not earning enough from Nuffnang ?
Thursday, April 1st, 2010Just received this notice from Nuffnang warning their affiliates from clicking on their own ads. Like any affiliate programs such as Google Adsense, Advertlets, Chitika, Kontera, and many more out there, they have very clear guidelines about clicking on your own ads for generating a higher income for themselves. I suspect the bloggers and webmaster are having a tough time trying to earn anything decent from their hard work blogging and making website. (more…)
Star Two Rage featured bloggers
Thursday, March 11th, 2010The Star Two Rage section is more for the youth, twenty-something who likes to blog. Some of their featured Malaysian bloggers including the super blogger like Kenny Sia and several others. Ok, intriguing. So where do I stand as far as all this bloggers go?
Blogging may be all the rage these days especially in the Malaysian scene. Granted when I pop into blogging a few years back, blogging was still in its infancy (a few years is like millennia, considering the fast pace of online app development!). Back then I started a website about travel, it was a niche topic, doing pretty darn well I should say. But I have more things to say than just happy travelling. So I got myself a blog and started to write about technological stuffs which I like (ok, apart from travel which I also liked, and there are many more things which I like too.) (more…)
