Here’s to a new CNY Lunar New Year 2018

Thursday, February 22nd, 2018

New Year was over and the Chinese Lunar New Year 2 weeks celebration would be over soon! Time really went by quickly and in two shakes of tail, year 2018 would be gone in a flash! Of course I hope to post more blogs but with limited time to do so many things, there probably won’t be too many postings.

The month of January swung by pretty fast! It was like there was a frenzy to catch up on all the follow ups on the many inquiries, which hopefully would translate to more sales for my workplace. (more…)

HTC Cha Cha Review

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

I have been using HTC Cha Cha for more than a week now, so now have a good feel about this Android mobile phone. Earlier I was musing whether to tango with HTC Cha Cha or HTC Salsa. But in the end I bought this model because I am still very much a keyboard user. Though the PDA sales guy said that I was also

rather fast when tapping out on the full screen model. I think a real keyboard provides better touch typing sensitivity than a virtual keyboard.

The Pillars of the Earth, Ken Follet’s Best Seller and TV Series

Saturday, September 24th, 2011

Really enjoyed watching Ken Follet’s The Pillars of the Earth. Only 4 episodes of approx 1-1/2 hours each. It seems recently Astro been showing a lot of these medieval type stories with all the “game of throne” political maneuverings. A bit of a change from watching all those sci-fi shows for me lately.

Did a bit of background check on this show, it seems it took author Ken Follet 3 years and 3 months to complete the book. And it was on the best seller for 6 years! Now that’s very interesting. It was also quite a departure from his modern day thrillers that he usually wrote about.

Burn Remedy using Flour

Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Received this message about some new burn remedy using flour. Of course the first thing that came to my mind screaming in my head was – Urban Legend! – well after digging around the internet it seems there is some plausible application of using flour as a burn remedy.

As usual, such circulation will tell you a story of how a would be person in this case a lady, strange that most urban legend will feature a lady that don’t know much or experience some problem, etc and the hero of the day is a man and this time Vietnam Vet to give it more credence. (more…)

Pale Horseman of the Apocalypse on MSNBC

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

When I first received the YouTube link in my mailbox, I looked through it with a certain amount of scepticism. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Christian, but there are also many false views pretending to be this or that. However this Pale Horseman of the Apocalypse shown on MSNBC news covering the Egyptian riot was rather intriguing as the newsman didn’t edit it and was shown throughout the world. Now it has been uploaded by various people taken from various sources be MSNBC or other news network. (more…)

Chinese New Year Shortage of New Notes for Ang Pow

Monday, January 24th, 2011

Oh, dear! Apparently Bank Negara is issuing limited quantities of new notes for this year 2011 Chinese New Year. Checking on a couple of banks, they informed that they only have RM1 and RM50 notes. What!? You can’t expect us to stack heaps of RM1 note into the Ang Pow Packets! And we are not that rich to put RM50 in Ang Pows to give away. Perhaps Bank Negara think Chinese in Malaysia are rich people. We slog like the rest of the rakyat in Malaysia and pay taxes through our noses! Apparently there was some message circulating in the wild saying that a large proportion of taxes in Malaysia are paid mainly by Chinese! (more…)

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Finally I got myself the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro running on the Google Android operating system. It has been a long wait to switch over to a PDA mobile phone with almost the features that I was looking for. Although it was an improvement over my previous PDA Palm Centro phone, but there is also some limitation on some features that was available on my Palm Centro. I guess nothing is ever 100% perfect.

It took a long time for Sony Ericsson to bring it over to Malaysia. It was launched elsewhere in the world early of 2010. There were 2 press released, one in March and another June 2010. It left me waiting in anticipation till its final product launch around end of July.

After inquiring with the mobile shop about the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro, I managed to explore the Xperia and decided this model looks like it was sufficient for my needs. It has what I wanted, a good, easy to use QWERTY keyboard and the price was reasonable too. I have scoured a long time for an Android phone that has a good proper QWERTY keyboard; HTC didn’t have one for the Android platform while the Motorola Milestone keyboard was too flat and not easy to type for a long drawn out typing session. Build a better mouse trap and customers will beat a path to you

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

Now tell me which marketing student haven’t learned about this phrase: “Build a better mouse trap and customers will beat a path to you.”

And you know what? It doesn’t work that way in real life and many marketing people will tell you that. Unfortunately those who didn’t study marketing or blur about the marketing concept will continue to make the same blunder. They made a better product; but no customer beat a path to them unfortunately.

There are four basic fundamental marketing concept:
Production concept
Product concept
Selling concept

Pos Malaysia Postal Rates July 2010

Monday, July 5th, 2010

So Pos Malaysia has revised its postal rates by 100% from 1st July 2010 onwards. They claim their postal usage has been declining and of course they have not revised their rates for the past 18 years. They needed to adjust their rates so that they can revise their pay to the postal workers to match with the civil servants pay and of course to boost the profitability back to previous years. (more…)
