Dear Jan,

Finally my watch can function after almost 2 months!

I had problem sending the watch to Marco (Casio distributor in Msia) thru dealer (which is a watch shop I have transacted with previously) to claim for warranty (I was informed of the warranty card problem after the watch had been with the dealer for 1 month!). Had the Sg seller to send a tourist warranty card over, after which I sent the watch to Marco personally. Yesterday went to collect it myself. Warranty claimed.

Out of curiousity, I asked the lady how much a solar battery would cost (my watch is using CTL1616 if not mistaken). She replied RM25.50, we could send the watch to them to replace. What a relief to know that.

1) Perhaps defective battery? On moderate use, mine last about two days. Light use about 3 days. Heavy use, 1 day.

2) Ya. Mine also hung sometimes when receiving call. I'm using a 1GB Micro SD. Probably not a SD card issue. Just a little buggy.

But overall, I still like Palm over the Windows Mobile version. I have lots of useful software to go with it, and software generally runs faster than Windows version. I have no problem receiving emails using GPRS and the Google Map, Facebook and VOX application was very useful. All provided free with Palm. For Windows Mobile, very difficult to get any decent software at a low cost, and I had very poor experience using it to connect using GPRS or even WIFI, and Windows still hang anyway.

Hi,
I just bought this device a few days ago. I found that the cigarette lighter socket heated up. Will it burn down my mp3 modulator? I am worried about it. I am not sure whether is because of get heated up, there are some 'sa..sa..' sound appearing.

Dear All,
I seem to have a problem with the Red Fox FM modulator. I've attached a 4GB Kingston thumbdrive to it and it works fine, generally.
What I don't understand is that it tends to skip/ not read certain songs. All the songs are in MP3 format. Also, when I sometimes search for a song, the song number appears on the display, but then it skips to the next song. Or, the song in particular can only be played when the previous song concludes.
Does anyone else have this weird problem?
Btw, I only have around 400 songs on the thumbdrive, amounting to about 2.5GB.

thanks, and have a nice day.

1) the battery could only last for one day??!!
2) there were few times, the phone hung during incoming call, anything to do with my recent upgrade to 2GB memory?

The great thing about dslr's is that there is plenty second-hand stuff available :-)
The not so great thing is that you can still easily spend way too much money ;-)

Anyway, it is true ... technology helps you to make good pictures more easily, but only skills help you to make better pictures. That means having at least basic understanding of composure, light, and post processing.

Hi Jan

Thank you for posting the instructions, I got the same battery from megacapcity.com within 1 week, they even supplied tools to replace the battery free of charge and I can confirm that the price I paid for the same battery is almost 50% cheaper then from infinity.com. My T3 performs better then it was when I first got it. Once again I do appriciate that you posted the video on line.

I just got a wisdom tooth pulled at 2:30 and the actual procedure only took less than 10 minutes.I put ice on right away and took tylenol after an hour the numbness went away and I feel good. There is still a little bleeding but not as bad as the horror stories that I have heard. I was in and out of the dentist in one hour and that is with being a new patient....Also, I found out that I do not have 2 of the 4 wisdom teeth so one more to go if it ever comes out..

Udang Merah is also called Ang Hae by the Chinese, which might be Hokkein.
And in Cantonese it is 'Woo Lou'.
Does anyone know what chinese dialect 'Mausang' is?

Any other names for the 'Bamboo Leg' ?
Where is the Bentong area?

Dear Tom,
Sorry. I never tried the repeat button. Can't test the remote now coz the button battery dead. Not planning to replace the battery for the remote. Didn't find any need for it.

Dear Wei-Jan,
Nope. It will not work with MP4. Only MP3. There are some versions that can work with WMA but those cost more. Check your ripping software settings. eg in ITUNES you can set what format to convert.
1) Goto "Edit"
2) click "Preference"
3) click the "Advance" tab
4) then the "Importing" tab
5) change the "Import using" drop down list and select MP3 Encoder
6) Set your quality to High Quality 160kbps
7) Press "OK" and you are done.

Great review. I still have issues with it though. It can read mp4 files or not? I ripped songs off a pirated CD and the file type turned out to be mpeg-4. Anyway, the FM modulator read my thumbdrive, but the songs can't be heard.

Am I doing it right?
1. I plug the FM modulator into the socket.
2. Change the station channel on the modulator to the radio station that is on (say, Mix FM, 95.4)
3. Play?

I just don't get it why the songs won't be heard. Is it the thumbdrive problem? I formatted the pendrive before I plugged it in...

Great review. I still have issues with it though. It can read mp4 files or not? I ripped songs off a pirated CD and the file type turned out to be mpeg-4. Anyway, the FM modulator read my thumbdrive, but the songs can’t be heard.

Am I doing it right?
1. I plug the FM modulator into the socket.
2. Change the station channel on the modulator to the radio station that is on (say, Mix FM, 95.4)
3. Play?

Dear Angus,
I have absolutely no idea. It was given by the maid next door. Since she is Indonesian, it could have meant something in that language, but I never got curious enough to find out.

How did Cika get his name? It's a word in a Congalese dialect meaning "stop it". That's why we gave our cat that name

Hyvrid Mode isnt normally available on desktops as it was designed more with laptops in mind. I believe that Hybrid Mode is available on some Dell higher end desktops, but on most other desktops and most desktops of other makes the mode is simply sleep mode.

It is also worth while to note that if you are trying to use Hybrid Mode on either a compatable desktop or your laptop then you may have to enable hibernation by doing the following

1: Click on your start menu button and in the search box type cmd and then right click the cmd and left click run as admin
2: type in the following to the cmd line powercfg -h on
3: Press your Enter or Return Button
4: Close the cmd

You should now have enabled hibernation on your computer (if it was not already enabled) and you will need hibernation enabled before you can use the sleep feature of Hybrid Mode. You can test this by pressing the sleep button on your keyboad (if you have a multimedia keyboard) --- (your sleep button should look like either a half moon or a half moon with a little star above right.) If you dont have a multimedia keyboard then you can still test your settings by doing the following

1: Open your start menu
2: Locate the arrow that should be next to the lock sign on the sleep/lock menu bar at teh bottom right of your start menu screen
3: If you see the sleep comman in the extended menu (accessed via clicking on the arrow as described above) then your computer should now be able to sleep using Hybrid Mode. You can check this by clicking the before mentioned sleep command

You can also put check that hibernation has been enbaled on your computer by doing the following

1: Open your start menu
2: Locate the first button on your sleep/lock menu (located at the bottom right of your start menu)
3: Click the before mentioned button

If you have tried any method mentioned above and your computer goes into sleep then congratulations. If none of these methods work then I would like to apologise but without seeing your computer I would not be able to give any further desription

----NOTE----
All the above is descibed in general for every computer and may not work on your indervidual computer system or laptop system and I accept no responsiblity for eithe this or any errors that arise by you following any of the steps that I have outlined above.

Thanks
Jay
