Links

Links Exchange Resource Pages

These are some links to the various websites. They lead to other websites that may be of interest to you and then again it may not. When making websites, it may become necessary to exchange links with other webmasters.

And why is it so? Well it does two things.
1) It helps to promote the website for each other. Visitors may be curious about other websites and decides to pop in and have a look see at the links in the links resources that you have set up.
2) Helps in raising your website awareness in the search engines especially that of Google, though Yahoo, Bing and Ask may have their own algorithm to determine the relevancy of your website.

So therefore a link exchange may be beneficial when you make your own website. However it can be a bit tedious in that you need to seek out relevant websites to trade links and also make sure the website is a properly laid out website. Another problem is that the other website may die and you get broken links which the search engine robots are not too happy about following dead links which will penalize your website. And finally the Google gods there may also view aggressive link schemes adversely and you may up with penalty rather than boosting your website standing.

Examples of link schemes can include:
* Links intended to manipulate PageRank
* Links to web spammers or bad neighborhoods on the web
* Excessive reciprocal links or excessive link exchanging (“Link to me and I’ll link to you.”)
* Buying or selling links that pass PageRank

Still, the possible advantage of having link exchange is still better than none. So some work and effort will be needed to trade links like checking the quality of the website that you intend to exchange links with and check the reciprocal links once in awhile to see if you are still alive and kicking! Haha!

And for those of you who are seeking out websites to exchange links, I’m ready to trade with you. However due to my busy nature, it might take me awhile to come around, so don’t be offended if I didn’t reply. And I know some of you want the links in some pages or somewhere, sure those provide better inbound links, but such links do get lost in the many pages that I have so, you just have to accept the link pages.

By the way, don’t get too worried if the link pages don’t have PR, in fact don’t be too fixated by PR as that doesn’t really improve your web traffic. I know a friend whose website is PR0 and he gets loads of traffic. Even Google says don’t get fixated by the number show in the PR. The PR is one out of 200 factors Google considers when deciding on the importance of your website or webpage and the number of factors are increasing. Google makes about 400-600 tweaks in year. So don’t go chasing for a high PR number. It doesn’t matter as long as you get the website traffic. Whatever links that are listed will get crawled by the robots eventually. Links exchange is just to help your website gain some popularity juice and nothing beats good quality content over all those SEO Houdini stuff. Of course it is nice to see a big number on the PR. For me? As long as it is not zero, I’m pretty happy. Good quality website traffic is more important and of course the CTR that finally goes ka-ching!
