My Run at Adidas King of the Road 2012

Adidas #KingOfTheRoad 2012 #KOTR run was a blast! It wasn’t easy as it has been awhile since I last ran a 10km route. I did some 7km run last year and it was time to up the ante. One of my earliest 10km run was way back in 2005 and guess what? It was the Adidas King of the Road race! It was held in Kuala Lumpur and this time round the event took place at Sunway Pyramid with the route using the NPE highway. They have two distance, a shorter 10km and a longer 16.8km route. For me I just stuck back to 10km as my overall fitness wasn’t really great and I still get plantar fasciitis pain every now and then.

The information noted that many roads would be closed. Rather than trying to wake up really to park nearer to the race route, my wife volunteered to send me there and pick me up after the running event was over. Sounded good to me and gave me a chance for an extra hour of shut eye. Sometimes the anticipation of going for a run made it difficult for me to sleep. Fortunately I managed to knock off and had quite a good few hours sleep despite turning in rather late from preparing my Adidas running vest with the number bib. The bib was high tech as it was fitted with an electronic tag to mark my running time and upload the details to my Facebook and Twitter account! NTV7 Feel Good Run 2011

My feet were sure sore from the NTV7 Feel Good Run 2011 which I participated yesterday. Nevertheless it was good and one of the simpler runs which I tried. I have not gone for many runs since my plantar fasciitis injury, though now I have recovered but not wholly 100%, I am able to do my weekly 20 minutes running exercise.

To get myself back on the running challenge, I decided to start off smaller this time round. Most races are 10 km distances. However off and on I do see shorter ones like this NTV7 Feel Good Run which was only 7 km. This distance is just nice, not too long and not too short. After all my usual weekly exercise was already about 3 km. A 5 km run isn’t much of a challenge. 7km would be

just about right. If my feet are not too sore I may look out for 10 km run in future. For now 7 km it is. (more…)

Burn Remedy using Flour

Received this message about some new burn remedy using flour. Of course the first thing that came to my mind screaming in my head was – Urban Legend! – well after digging around the internet it seems there is some plausible application of using flour as a burn remedy.

As usual, such circulation will tell you a story of how a would be person in this case a lady, strange that most urban legend will feature a lady that don’t know much or experience some problem, etc and the hero of the day is a man and this time Vietnam Vet to give it more credence.
