I have to start it up several times before it finally stabilizes. Very irritating and left me to contemplate using the alternative from Open Office. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Checking around, I found the solution to the crashing problem from a forum. Apparently the registry was somehow corrupted so it needs to be removed.<\/p>\n<p>First start the regedit.exe program<\/p>\n<p>Then follow the path:<br \/>\nHKEY_CURRENT_USER\/Software\/Microsoft\/Office\/12.0\/Word<\/p>\n<p>Then change the folder called &#8216;data&#8217; to &#8216;olddata&#8217;<br \/>\nThen change the folder called &#8216;options&#8217; to &#8216;oldoptions&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>The second folder \u2018option\u2019 removal is optional as some web site only suggested removing the \u2018data\u2019 folder. Anyway, I just removed both by following the above procedure.
