Windows 7 vs Vista

Windows 7 vs Vista, my evaluation so far

My Windows 7 evaluation so far, between Windows 7 vs Vista, well the interface looks a little sleeker. Changes were made of course to make the Windows 7 feels newer and different from Windows Vista. I’m still playing with it and trying to understand some of the differences. Basically you could start using Windows 7 straight away if you have been using Windows Vista. The file location is similar except that they now come with the library folder. That one is a little confusing because it will bunch several locations that is designated as same group. Eg folders that are for documents will be bunch into the library document folder. The library document folder should not be confused with the actual document folder. Same goes with the picture, download, music, videos folder and etc.

From what I understand, Windows 7 is supposed to be less processor intensive than Windows Vista. But I find my Dell Inspiron 1501 running a little slow. Especially dragging the windows about, I notice there was lagging which I didn’t experience when it was running with Vista. (more…)

Finally upgrade to Windows 7

Tuesday, December 29th, 2009

Windows 7 is out in the market for some time now. And from what has been reviewed, it seems to be very popular and much more user friendly than Windows Vista. So without much ado, it was time for me to upgrade to Windows 7, well at least for my laptop and give it a quick spin.

I was not about to destroy my Windows Vista installed in my Gigabyte AMD desktop PC. It has way too much stuff. Since I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop which I have been using for the past 2-1/2 year (how time flies!). I used mainly for travel and don’t store my data inside at all. So this was a good candidate to try out for an upgrade to Windows 7. (more…)

Penang Komtar in backgroung

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Long drive. Just checked in Cititel for well needed break from the long drive from PJ. Having pickup the visitors and drop them off at the factory for their meeting and discussion on upgrading the clay factory. Looks like the financial is in dire straights. Hope they can find a solution soon. Meanwhile I have my own customers to see and my own customer problem to settle. Looks like production is at full steam at both supplier and customer; supplier having problem to slot in the order for my customer. A good sign that the economy is getting better? Could be. But Australia didn't sound that good when one of my friends came back to Malaysia when she was made redundant. She also mentioned that many graduates could not find jobs since one year already. And they take in any jobs like barrista in some coffee cafe.
Well thankful that still got a job and thankful that my web is also doing well. Praises to God.
However the path isn't smooth and I still have to solve all those problems! Kinda tired about it. Rent is late as usual from my Afro tenants. Don't have the heart to kick them out as they have a new born baby but they really need to improve their cash flow!
This month I'm running on minimum expenses as I have to settle my credit card of last month. Always settle in full. Not worth it to pay interest. Not at all.
Christmas is coming and there are many gatherings as well as activities. Going to be a busy month despite the many holidays. Yep, from this week till the new year is 4 day work week. What a coincidence, but next year all the holidays fall on saturday and my company will not compensate any public holidays falling on saturday. Oh, well enjoy this year suffer next year.
Anyway good tidings to all if any who read this post (doubt it since my analytics indicate almost none existent web traffic) so sort of like a semi public blog? Haha!
Cheers
