This wasn’t a chance to be missed! USAF F-16 Thunderbirds are coming to Kuala Lumpur for an aerial display, plus of course our very own local Malaysian RMAF Sukhoi jet in the opening act! So it was a must see!

Despite the traffic jam leading to the airbase plus I didn’t know where exactly is the entrance to the Subang airbase did give me some trouble to get there in the morning. Idil said I should go there early in the morning at 6am! Brrr… I still want my sleep! So I took my time getting there and left about 9am in the morning. The air show was slated to start at around 10:30am but the crowd has already gone on ahead early and I was stuck in a crawl with the latecomers. Halfway through, I decided to stop at BHP petrol station for a break. Met guy there who was wondering why there was a massive traffic jam in the early Saturday morning. So I told him about the air show. This was one of tha “Ah…” moment when he realized what caused the bad traffic jam. (more…)

The New Year started with a bang from all those grand fireworks display. Being near to two shopping malls I got to see all the slam bang actions from 1-Utama and Ikano/Curve. That was like 3 weeks ago since my last blog. Well I was kinda busy. During the New Year, I made a trip up to Cameron Highlands with my parents and less than a week later I was off to Bali to attend a cousin’s wedding. Two travel destinations in so short a time sounds good you would think. But there is such a thing as travel fatigue. Too much of a good thing can actually be a tiring affair. (more…)

Using a Digital SLR is very different from using a compact camera. It is far more complicated to use with its myriad settings and accessories. And it is definitely not cheap! Getting the body was the first step to building a suitable camera system. Out with the old, in with the new. I may have lost my Panasonic Lumix camera to the pickpocketer, and with it my Hanoi photos together with it. Disappointed, yes, but life goes on and now I get to play with a brand new Canon Powershot A720IS digital camera.

I really needed a camera to take photos for memories, for photography and for blogging too. Without a camera, I seemed rather handicapped. So last Friday after work, I dropped by 1-Utama shopping mall to scout around for a replacement. Hari Raya Festive holiday was just over but the sales were still ongoing. If I see an interesting view, take a picture! I should be carrying a proper digital camera then, ha! Yeah, yeah, sure the digital cameras are getting smaller and easier to carry by the day. But the one I bought, the Lumix DMC-LZ2, though small, is still not that small to carry around. I like it because of its 6x optical zoom. (more…)
