Finally overcome some writer's block. It happens. The difficulty of writing depends on the topic. Fir travel writing, I'm in a roll. No problem here. Technical writing on the other hand is a different matter all together. How to write in such a way that would make it interesting n informative at the same time is a tough write.
Well just got to keep on writing. …

Friday, October 30th, 2009Cat Behaviour
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009There is no fixed rule on cat behaviour. Each cat that I had was pretty individualistic although you might spot some similarity. And between a stray-in-the-wild cats versus that of a domesticated house cat, again there will be differences in their cat behaviour as well.
Having had 4 house cats, I could give some general cat behaviour and yet each has their own idiosyncrasies. There are many books written about general cat behaviours but somehow, some don’t quite seem to match with those that I experience, while some seem to correlate. If cat could talk, we might know more about they were thinking but alas no, they can only meow, and we leave it to the social cat researchers to dig out some of those unfathomable meows.
It has also been said that their fur markings is an indicator of cat behaviour as well and it is closely related to their genetic mark up. The fur marking is also an indicator to their pedigree that is related to the cat, and like dogs, each pedigree will exhibit their own characteristics. (more…)

USAF F-16 Thunderbirds and RMAF Sukhoi SU-30MKM Flanker C airshow photos
Wednesday, October 7th, 2009Here are some photos of USAF F-16 Thunderbirds and RMAF Sukhoi SU-30MKM Flanker C doing some acrobatic manoeuvres at the Subang Airport, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Getting there was quite tough too having to clamber about the fence because none of want to get our shoes wet!

USAF F-16 Thunderbirds aerial acrobat team on runway waiting for green light to lift off.
-
Getting there was tough. First the traffic jam, then a little commando walking in something that looked like a DMZ before reaching open ground.
-

Everybody waiting in anticipation. Slight drizzle here. Would they give the green light for go?
-

Whoa! DSLR enthusiast coming out in full force with telephoto lens!
-

Our very own jet as opener, a single RMAF Sukhoi Mig-29.
-

Solo maneuvers showing the silhouette of Sukhoi Mig 29 Fulcrum.
-

Next up, the USAF F-16 Thunderbirds roaring by!
-
After a roaring ride up, the contrast is very apparent. Peace and traquility.
-

All six of them! USAF Thunderbirds in formation.

The dangerous fly-pass between two F-16 Thunderbirds.

USAF Thunderbirds taxi on the runway returning to hangar after their aerial acrobats. That’s it folks!

Too bad I couldn’t get any clearer pictures of USAF -F16 Thunderbirds or the RMAF Sukhoi SU-30MKM. Should have figured out the settings much earlier on taking clearer pictures of fast moving object from a distance.
In addition, the light drizzle caused a lot of speck on my lens. The commando like climbing plus taking pictures through the fence also scratched my Polarising Filter. I also shouldn’t be too ambitious trying to capture still photos and videos at the same time. In the end, both also not very satisfying.
A basic photography lesson learned from the air show outing. Hopefully can get better pictures next time though I won’t know when any other air force would drop by for an aerial display. Anyway, live and learn.

USAF F-16 Thunderbirds and RMAF Sukhoi airshow
Wednesday, October 7th, 2009This wasn’t a chance to be missed! USAF F-16 Thunderbirds are coming to Kuala Lumpur for an aerial display, plus of course our very own local Malaysian RMAF Sukhoi jet in the opening act! So it was a must see!
Despite the traffic jam leading to the airbase plus I didn’t know where exactly is the entrance to the Subang airbase did give me some trouble to get there in the morning. Idil said I should go there early in the morning at 6am! Brrr… I still want my sleep! So I took my time getting there and left about 9am in the morning. The air show was slated to start at around 10:30am but the crowd has already gone on ahead early and I was stuck in a crawl with the latecomers. Halfway through, I decided to stop at BHP petrol station for a break. Met guy there who was wondering why there was a massive traffic jam in the early Saturday morning. So I told him about the air show. This was one of tha “Ah…” moment when he realized what caused the bad traffic jam. (more…)
Bad day
Tuesday, October 6th, 2009I want to vent my frustration because everything is not going well today. Sure there may be good days and bad days, but today it was especially no good. First there was a speed trap on a stretch of road that never in my frequent usage encounter such a thing. Then there was some miscommunication about the location of the meeting to take place with the customer, the supplier wanted to have meeting in the factory but usually the customer boss is in the city and the distance is very far. But the boss said it is no problem to see them at the factory even though it would be inconvenient. The customer usually plays hardball with me and don’t give out information freely. But now with the supplier around and my big boss around, the information is now freely given. This would have been great unfortunately I informed that the customer usually don’t give out information. So now I lose face in front of my boss. In addition, pricing information about competitor is also not given out, but today it flows freely. In the end what am I to say? Damn if I do, Damn if I don’t. Needless to say the pricing quotation was out of the market price. I will be very fortunate to even get a few orders out from this account. Difficult to build up your reputation and it can be destroyed in an instant. Trying to be as frank and straight as possible, but ended up being chowder and meatballs.
