Using a Digital SLR is very different from using a compact camera. It is far more complicated to use with its myriad settings and accessories. And it is definitely not cheap! Getting the body was the first step to building a suitable camera system. My Canon EOS 30D DSLR

So finally, I got myself a DSLR – Canon EOS 30D. Victor has been pestering me for some time to get one because we are planning to embark on shooting wedding reception photos. You may call it a part time home based business; after all you don’t really need an office to shoot wedding reception events.

I have been mulling around trying to consider which brand of DSLR to go for; should it be Nikon or Canon? (more…)

I got myself a new Canon PowerShot A720IS camera

Out with the old, in with the new. I may have lost my Panasonic Lumix camera to the pickpocketer, and with it my Hanoi photos together with it. Disappointed, yes, but life goes on and now I get to play with a brand new Canon Powershot A720IS digital camera.

Sob! I lost my old faithful Panasonic Lumix camera in Hanoi...I really needed a camera to take photos for memories, for photography and for blogging too. Without a camera, I seemed rather handicapped. So last Friday after work, I dropped by 1-Utama shopping mall to scout around for a replacement. Hari Raya Festive holiday was just over but the sales were still ongoing. I was pretty sure I could get something. My target was Canon models because it has many function similar to an SLR. (more…)
